Reasons Behind Safety Accidents in China's Chemical Industry and Some Countermeasures

2020-03-31

A number of safety accidents had successively occurred across China this year after the deadly blast in Xiangshui, Jiangsu province, sounding an alarm bell for the entire chemical industry in China. It is essential for China to heighten supervision on the country’s chemical industry again after these frequent safety accidents.

What is the future direction of safety management in China's chemical industry? Should chemical enterprises and parks be closed once and for all? How will domestic and foreign chemical enterprises be influenced by the new policy? How should chemical enterprises deal with work safety problems? To address these concerns, CNCIC Consulting will strive to roll out the Reasons behind Safety Accidents in China’s Chemical Industry and Some Countermeasures, which includes the following contents.

- Analyze critical reasons behind frequent safety accidents in China’s chemical industry

- Interpretation of national and local policies, regulations and standards in some key provinces (Shandong, Hebei, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Guangdong) related to safe production in chemical industry

- Analysis of key provinces’ efforts on promoting relocation and transformation of hazardous chemicals enterprises, existing problems and their work plans for 2019;  rectification measures taken by these key provinces in wake of “3•21 accident”

- Evaluate the impact of a series of remedial measures on the chemical industry after “3•21 accident” and the trend of future regulatory measures

- Analyze how chemical enterprises should cope with the government’s “heightened safety supervision”, should they upgrade or exit the market?

- Analyze the possibility of further integration of China's chemical industry and the development opportunities of all stakeholders in the industrial chain in the next 3-5 years under tightening safety and environmental protection supervision
